The Premier League strugglers will not be offering the Spaniard a new deal and they would be prepared to allow the 36-year-old to leave in January if the opportunity arises

Blackburn Rovers' Michel Salgado looks set to leave the club in the January transfer window with the defender seemingly surplus to requirements.
Salgado's contract is due to expire in the summer and boss Steve Kean has confirmed that the defender won't be at Ewood Park for the 2012-13 campaign.
Furthermore, the Scot has confirmed that he will allow the former Real Madrid man to leave in January if an opportunity arises for the 36-year-old.
Kean said: "Michel won't be here next season.
"If there is an opportunity for him to find another solution in this window that is something we would look at.
"It is out of respect for the player to give him the heads up that this will be his last season."
