The 42-year-old feels that Bayern Munich's No. 1 will block the way for many promising young talents for years to come

Former Arsenal player Jens Lehmann believes that Manuel Neuer's presence in Germany's national team will suppress a generation of goalkeepers.
Young talents like Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Kevin Trapp and Bernd Leno have little chance of usurping the former Schalke in the DFB line-up, according to the 42-year-old.
"He [Neuer] will probably suppress a generation. Over the next eight to 10 years, under normal circumstances, no-one will be able to come out from under his shadow," Lehmann told Sport-Bild.
"He is number one. He thinks well, is relatively consistent and is also a great athlete. No one can hold a candle to him."
Neuer made his debut for Germany in June 2009. After deputising for the injured Rene Adler at the 2010 World Cup, was named full-time No. 1 by coach Joachim Low. To date, the Bayern Munich man has earned 25 senior caps.
