Benzema and Hazard pick up French awards

Real Madrid's Karim Benzema & Lille's Eden Hazard among winners of 2011 France Football awards

The Blancos' striker and Belgian star have been crowned as Player of the Year and Best Foreign Player respectively by the French magazine, while Lille and Lyon are also commended


Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema and Lille forward Eden Hazard are among the biggest winners of this year's France Football awards.

The Blancos and Les Bleus hitman netted the most prestigious honour on offer, picking up Player of the Year, while Belgium international Hazard received the accolade for Best Foreign Player thanks to his Ligue 1 winning exploits with Rudi Garcia's side.

In addition, Sochaux midfielder Marvin Martin has been rewarded for his breakout season after being presented with France Football's Revelation of the Year.
However, Remi Garde's outfit have been positively recognised for securing qualification for the Champions League knockout stage against the odds versus Dinamo Zagreb, bagging them Exploit of the Year in the process.
