Chelsea Launch £34.7m Bid For Real Madrid Star

AVB is still looking for the new faces to rebuilding The Blues squad in this january transfer window

Spanish newspaper Marca are claiming that Chelsea are readying a bid of £34.7m or €43m for Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria.

The Argentina international, 23, is reportedly unhappy with his salary in comparison with the other top players at the club, and is considering his options.

According to Marca, Di Maria was promised a raise in line with his status at the club should he perform well in his debut season, but that never happened.

“I am anxious waiting for the renewal,” revealed Di Maria back in June 2011.
“In Spain they never expected to do the year I did,” he added.

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas clearly recognises his immense value on the pitch though if reports of his club’s impending bid are correct.

Di Maria has scored 4 goals and provided 13 assists – the most in La Liga – in 14 Primera Division appearances this season.

Would £34.7m be enough for a player who moved to Real for €25m plus variables in summer 2010?
