Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has stated that his team only have themselves to blame after the 1-1 draw at home with Wolves which saw them miss an opportunity to leapfrog Chelsea into fourth in the Premier League.
An early goal from Gervinho gave the Gunners the lead and they had looked comfortable until Steven Fletcher equalised with a header in the first half.
From that point onwards siege was laid on Wayne Hennessey's goal, but the Welsh goalkeeper stood tall and Wolves held onto a point despite a red card for Nenad Milijas with 15 minutes to go.
"We missed a great opportunity, but we have to keep going and take the positives out of the performance," Wenger told reporters.
"What we have to learn is that when we are at 1-0 up, I believe that in some departments we become a bit too comfortable.
"We were caught at 1-1 in a position where we can only blame ourselves for the rest. Their keeper had the game of his life, they fought like mad and well done to them.
"I don't know how many shots they had on goal or how many we had, but it's the kind of game you play 20 times, and you win 19 times and draw one. That was today, on the day where we couldn't afford it.
"It is frustrating, but I'm more frustrated by the result than the performance and the spirit. I cannot fault the attitude or the commitment or the desire to win the game.
"Their keeper had a good performance and they saved a few on the line. They did fight like mad.
"I believe it was important for us to go in 1-0 at half-time because I know the way they defended, they would not survive for 90 minutes, and we would have much more space to play, and at some stage they would have to come out.
"But I felt we lost our way a bit between 30 and 40 minutes, and on that occasion we were caught. The only thing we can learn today is to keep the spirit and when you're 1-0 up, keep your lead."
Wenger also insisted that decisions have not been falling his team's way recently, after they were denied a penalty when Laurent Koscielny's cross appeared to strike the arm of Christophe Berra.
He continued: "What can I do? It looks like for us to get a penalty, we'll have to fight very hard. [I haven't seen the handball today] but I've seen the handball at Manchester City and it was definitely a handball.
"Decisions don't go in our favour, but today we don't blame the decisions, or anybody in fact. It was a game we could have won anyway.
"Gervinho scored today, and we had other opportunities. Arshavin was very close, Rosicky was close, Mertesacker was close.
"It was the kind of day, maybe we were not relaxed enough. We wanted it so much that we were a bit too much in the wanting zone, and not enough in the technical zone."
The manager went on to maintain that there is still a long way to go in the race for the league title but admitted the Gunners will have to make more of the opportunities they receive after Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea all drew yesterday.
He added: "There's going to be a lot of twists and turns [in the Premier League], today we couldn't take advantage of that and that's the real frustrating thing.
"When you have the luck of the results yesterday and can't take advantage of it today, that's where the worrying thing is because you have to take advantage of those opportunities."
He also gave an update on Theo Walcott's fitness, after the winger missed the game through illness.
He said: "Walcott is sick, a stomach problem. He's already better today, but he couldn't come to training yesterday. He should be available for Saturday."
