Wayne Rooney happy with United's 'Amazing' away form

Wayne Rooney encouraged by Manchester United's 'amazing' away form record

Forward happy with the Red Devils' performances on their travels this season after notching seven victories on the road from nine games, making up for disappointing home results.

Wayne Rooney has expressed his delight at Manchester United's away form this season.

The Red Devils managed just seven away wins last season but have already racked up that amount this term in just nine games, their most recent victory on the road coming at Craven Cottage on Wednesday night as they trashed Fulham 5-0.

"It is an amazing turnaround," Rooney told Sky Sports. "Last season we only dropped two points at home but struggled away.

"This season we've already dropped five points at home but we're making up for that away."

United now face two games at home against Wigan and Blackburn and will be hoping to pick up two wins to keep the heat on Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.

The champions have been dealt a blow ahead of those games with the news that Ashley Young will be missing until the new year with an injury sustained in the Fulham win.

Phil Jones will be available, however, after fears that a jaw injury could keep him out.
