Paris St Germain have called a news conference for Friday when Carlo Ancelotti is expected to be confirmed as the French club's new coach.
PSG have not yet officially announced that current incumbent Antoine Kombouare has been sacked, but it seems his removal is imminent.
The big spending French giants, backed by their Qatari owners, have long wanted a high-profile coach to work with their sporting director Leonardo - appointed earlier this year.
It is now little surprise that the Brazilian has turned to former Chelsea coach Ancelotti, after they worked closely together during Leonardo's playing days at AC Milan.
Ancelotti was filmed and photographed arriving at PSG's Parc des Princes HQ on Wednesday, where he met with Leonardo along with Giovanni Mauri - his fitness coach.
It now looks as though he will be confirmed as PSG's new coach before the New Year after a press conference was called for 2pm on Friday, allowing Ancelotti to take charge of their winter break in Dubai.
With Ancelotti poised to take control, PSG are already being linked with fresh transfer targets.
David Beckham, who has been a long-term target, is soon expected to sign - but Ancelotti is believed to be keen to link-up with a number of his former stars and bids for Alexandre Pato, Kaka and Florent Malouda are being speculated.
