Barcelona vice-president Jordi Cardoner has denied that the Catalans have agreed a deal with Santos for starlet Neymar to move to Camp Nou in 2014.

It was widely reported earlier this month that the reigning world, European and Spanish champions had paid €10 million to the Brazilian side to secure first refusal on the forward. There were also suggestions that the player could move to La Liga before the 2014 World Cup.

However, Cardoner insists that no agreement has been reached with Santos, telling RAC 1: "To my knowledge we did not pay €10m to have a preferential option for Neymar."

Cardoner also stated that Barca coach Josep Guardiola will have the final say on whether the highly-rated teenager will eventually make the switch to Camp Nou.

"If we’re talking about [Neymar] it is because he is a player considered qualified to be a part of this team, but our technicians will decide," the vice-president added.

19-year-old Neymar, is considered one of the most exciting young prospects in world football and has already been capped 15 times by Brazil. However, he only signed a new five-year contract with Santos earlier this year.
